ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN Shirt

Design by: Eric Eye

Electric Frankenstein first formed in 1989 out of the ashes of famed NYC space punk band The Thing, and continued to develop their sounds between 1990 and 1991, by brothers Sal and Dan Canzonieri. They are dedicated to playing loud, aggressive, and melodic Punk Rock & Roll music. Remember the first time that you heard the Dead Boys, the Damned, the Ramones, the Weirdos, the Germs, the Avengers, the Misfits, Black Flag, or any of your other favorites? The World felt ready to explode! Remember when the latest singles you bought meant so much that you got into fist fights with losers who made fun of "your music"? You kicked their ass. Well, that time is here again now.

In addition to playing some of the most dynamic, ravenous, and menacing rock you've ever heard, EF recognizes the importance of integrity. From giving proper nods to the architects of street-level rock (Iggy and the Stooges, Dead Boys, AC/DC), to fiercely supporting DIY labels, to their constant efforts to put fans first.

EF have over 100 record releases on over 40 of the world's best indie record labels (Sub Pop, Man's Ruin, Estrus, Get Hip, Victory, Au-go-go, TKO, Junk, etc.) They have been well reviewed in such magazines as Kerrang, SPIN, Metal Hammer, Rock Sound, Alternative Press, Hit Parader, Thrasher, Tail Spins, Rue Morgue, Maximum Rock N Roll, Flipside, Big Takeover, Paper, Aquarian Weekly, Vive Le Rock and countless European & Japanese magazines as well. EF have since their inception been touring the US, UK, and Europe; often as headliner, even doing a sold out show at the Fillmore in SF and played to thousands at European festivals. They have played with Danzig, Monster Magnet, Marilyn Manson, Hole, Social Distortion, The Misfits, Dead Kennedys, Dictators, Poison Idea, SOD, Joe Strummer, The Dwarves, Nebula, Orange Goblin, Electric Wizard, Turbonegro, Hellacopters, and many more. One of Joey Ramone's favorites, EF can count many other bands as fans of their music as well (Jon Spencer, Metallica, Monster Magnet, etc.), and they have returned the favor via the popular "A Fistful of Rock & Roll" compilation series, produced by EF guitarist, Sal Canzonieri.

The band's music and/or graphic art ( by the likes of renowned greats Basil Gogos, Mad Marc Rude, Dave Burke, Art Chantry, Coop, Emek, Ron English, Brian Ewing, Alan Forbes, Dirty Donny, Derek Hess, Frank Kozik, Tara McPherson, Mitch O’Connell, the Pizz, XNO, and many, many, MANY more.) has been featured in video games, such as Tony Hawk's Underground, TV shows such as Viva La Bam, The X-Files, Nitro Circus, Fantasy Factory, Dawson's Creek, SyFy’s BLOOD DRIVE and movies such as Signs, Jackass, and American Psycho 2 among others.

Electric Frankenstein's song "It's All Moving Faster" was covered by famous 1970s glitter/glam band Sweet on their 2012 album "New York Connection". Two different versions of their cover are featured on the 2014 reissue of "New York Connection".
